***Starting with the class of 2011, four years of math will be required and must be passed.

Students who fail grade nine, and have not made up the requirements of promotion will be placed on a waiting list and will be allowed back as freshmen based on available slots per the individual district quota policy. If accepted back into the school, these students are required to complete the exploratory process. All records of students who have not made up the requirements of promotion will be sent to the local high school.

The Massachusetts Department of Education has established the passing score on the MCAS as 240 points in English and math. Students who score between 220 and 238 will have an Educational Proficiency Plan (EPP) charting the courses the students will need to take during junior and senior year and how the student's progress will be measured.

All students must take and pass an MCAS science test based on the Science and Technology Framework standards. The Massachusetts Department of Education has established a passing score of 220 points for the science test. The test the students will take will be determined by Bay Path.

Student must satisfy policy explanation listed below:

  • *Student must pass three years of Social Studies regardless of credits earned.
  • **Student must pass four years of PE/Health unless student takes a Lab Science in grades eleven and/or twelve in lieu of PE/Health. In any case, students must pass all PE/Health courses taken. Lab Science is worth 1.0 credit.
  • ***Student must pass three years of Science regardless of credits earned.
