Basic Automotive Technology: Maintenance and Light Repair

This course is designed to upskill adult learners in the field of automotive technology, with a focus on maintenance and light repair. Bay Path’s certified automotive instructors will guide students through classroom and hands-on training aligned with current industry standards. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in automotive service and repair facilities by emphasizing practical skills and workplace readiness.
Key topics include vehicle safety and shop procedures, engine fundamentals, lubrication and cooling systems, brake systems, steering and suspension, electrical systems, tire and wheel service, preventive maintenance, and vehicle inspection. Students will utilize industry-standard tools and diagnostic equipment and learn to navigate digital service platforms.
Students will earn Industry Recognized Credentials such as OSHA 10, SP-2 Safety Certification, and ASE Student Certifications in Maintenance and Light Repair.
Additionally, the course includes job-readiness training, including resume-building and interview preparation.
